Course Overview
The Squire Course at PGA National is a Tom and George Fazio design playing 6,500 yards with a rating of 70.8 and slope of 130 — the most approachable of the resort's five courses. The shorter yardage and lower slope make it ideal for resort guests, beginners, and anyone who wants an enjoyable round without the intensity of the Champion Course. The Fazio design still delivers visual drama and strategic interest, just in a more forgiving package.
Fairway Conditions
Well-maintained resort conditioning with a layout that prioritizes enjoyment alongside challenge. The shorter yardage means the course plays quickly and keeps pace moving. Bermuda fairways are consistent, and the Fazio design elements — bunkers, water features, and landscaping — maintain the PGA National standard of visual excellence.
Why I Love This Course
â Alex Haigh
"The Squire is the course I recommend when someone at the resort says they're not a great golfer but still want to play. The 6,500 yards and 130 slope make it genuinely enjoyable for all skill levels — you can actually hit greens in regulation and feel good about your round. But don't mistake 'approachable' for 'boring' — the Fazio design has enough strategic interest to keep experienced golfers engaged too. It's the perfect course for a family round or a relaxed morning at the resort."
