John's Island – South Course
Vero Beach, Indian River County
Course Overview
The South Course at John's Island is a Tom Fazio design playing 6,908 yards with a rating of 72.4 and slope of 134 — the most approachable of the club's three courses. Fazio's characteristic attention to visual beauty and strategic bunkering gives the South a different personality from the Dye-designed North and West courses. It's the course that welcomes the widest range of golfers while still providing a championship-caliber experience.
Fairway Conditions
First-rate Fazio-maintained conditioning across all three John's Island courses. The South features Bermuda fairways with Fazio's signature shaping and strategic bunkering. The slightly more forgiving layout provides a balanced playing experience. Conditioning is impeccable year-round.
Why I Love This Course
â Alex Haigh
"Of the three courses at John's Island, the South is the one I'd play on a relaxing morning. Fazio designed it to be more forgiving than the Dye courses, but that doesn't mean it's easy — the 134 slope still demands respect. What I love about it is the beauty. Fazio's shaping gives the fairways this rolling quality, and the visual framing of every hole is just right. Between the three courses at this club, members have everything they could ask for."
