Broken Sound Club – Old Course
Boca Raton, Palm Beach County
Course Overview
Broken Sound's Old Course is a Joe Lee original, refined by Gene Bates and Rees Jones, playing 6,510 yards with a slope of 130. This is the course that hosted the PGA Tour Champions season opener for 17 consecutive years (2007–2023) — a testament to its quality as a competitive venue. Uniquely, the Old Course stands alone without homes lining the fairways, surrounded instead by a natural preserve setting that creates an intimate, secluded golf experience.
Fairway Conditions
Tournament-proven conditioning with Rees Jones refinements that elevated the course to championship standards. The secluded setting without housing means a more natural, peaceful round. Bermuda fairways are immaculate, and the greens are fast and true — tested annually by PGA Tour Champions players.
Why I Love This Course
â Alex Haigh
"The Old Course at Broken Sound has something you rarely find at private clubs in South Florida — no houses on the fairways. It's just you, the course, and the preserve. Having hosted the PGA Tour Champions for 17 years tells you everything about the quality of this layout. It's a thinking person's course — not the longest, but always rewarding smart play."
