The Jupiter Island Club is a private club on the north end of Jupiter Island in Martin County, bounded by the Indian River to the west, the Atlantic to the east, the Hobe Sound National Wildlife Refuge to the north, and Blowing Rocks Preserve to the south. Its roots go back to The Island Inn, a small hotel and cottages built in 1916; in 1933 and 1934 Joseph V. Reed and partners bought the Inn, the golf course and surrounding land, and the Reed family shaped the low-key, private island community that followed. Golf started with nine holes in 1916 and grew to 18 over time, including five holes added in 1959 with greens and bunkers shaped by William Diddel. Pete Dye rebuilt nine greens in 1966, including the 12th with its railroad-tie bulkheads, and the Fazios rebuilt the 14th green out toward the river in the early 1980s. In 2016 and 2017 Jan Bel Jan led a roughly $2.5 million renovation that relandscaped the course, introduced drought-tolerant turf, enlarged and recontoured the greens, softened the bunkers, and added scoring tees. Today the par 72 plays 6,018 yards from the Blue tees (70.2 / 132), with the Indian River in view on almost half the holes. The club also has an oceanfront Beach Club, a yacht basin, 14 Har-Tru tennis courts, croquet, and guest rooms and cottages.

The 2016-2017 Bel Jan renovation converted the course to drought-tolerant turf and moved more than 100 trees and palms so every green gets at least eight hours of sun a day. Fairways were raised to expand the irrigation lakes, and the club is self-sufficient for water with its own reverse osmosis plant plus drainage recycled through a network of ponds. Greens are larger and more contoured than before, with small terraces that add hole locations, and bunkers are smaller, more visible, and easier to get in and out of. The back tees on the 4th, 13th and 14th carry inlets of the Indian River, and the par 5 11th skirts the water's edge. Public review data is essentially nonexistent for this private course.

Jupiter Island has a humid subtropical climate with mild, drier winters and hot, humid summers. The club's main season runs through the winter months, when highs sit in the mid-70s. Summers reach the upper 80s and low 90s with afternoon thunderstorms common from June through September. With the Atlantic on one side and the Indian River on the other, the wind is a factor on most holes.
