Jensen Beach Golf Club, known as Eagle Marsh Golf Club until 2020, is a semi-private 18-hole course at 3869 NW Royal Oak Drive that welcomes members and non-members alike. It opened in 1997 as the first solo design by Tom Fazio II (Tommy Fazio), son of Jim Fazio and nephew of Tom Fazio, routed through marshes, wetlands, lakes and native pines inside the Jensen Beach Country Club community. The club says Golf Digest ranked it the No. 1 new course in America when it opened. Water comes into play on nine holes, and more than 80 bunkers frame the landing areas and greens. Two Swedish owners bought the struggling course in September 2019, renamed it, and began a cleanup and restoration after consulting with Fazio II, and the club says improvements are ongoing. The par 72 plays to 6,923 yards from the Gold tees with a 74.5 rating and 145 slope, and the scorecard lists ten tee options down to 3,960 yards. The signature 18th has two greens: the original sits across a big wetland carry, while a second green straight ahead removes the forced carry. The club bills itself as the closest course to Hutchinson Island and the beaches.

The club lists Bermuda grass and describes an ongoing program of improvements and restorations aimed at returning the course to its original condition; in October 2026 the website also posted a notice that greens maintenance was underway while the course stays open. Public reviews are mixed on conditioning: GolfPass golfers rate it 3.9 of 5 overall across 940 reviews, with Friendliness (4.8), Value (4.0) and Pace (4.0) well ahead of Conditions (3.1). A 2024 GolfPass staff review said the greens were decent but that the low-lying terrain can stay soggy for days after rain and some wetland carries can get overgrown. Expect water hazards, forced carries and bunkers to be the main challenges.

Jensen Beach has a humid subtropical climate with mild, drier winters and hot, humid summers, so golf is played year-round. Peak season from November through April brings comfortable mid-70s highs. Summers reach the upper 80s and low 90s with frequent afternoon thunderstorms from June through September, and the course's low-lying marsh setting can stay wet after heavy rain. The Indian River Lagoon and the Atlantic beaches on Hutchinson Island are a short drive east.

“Jensen Beach is the course I take people to when they want a great round and a beach day in the same trip. It's the closest quality public course to Hutchinson Island, and the Fazio layout is legitimately good. This isn't a filler course. The routing through the Eagle Marsh area gives it a natural Florida feel with water and native vegetation framing every hole. I've played it dozens of times in every season and it always delivers.”

Public tee times are booked online or through the golf shop, and rates change with demand. The club's published summer 2026 rates (May 10 to September 30, 2026, weekdays and weekends) were $49.95 for 18 holes before noon, $44.95 after noon, $39.95 after 2 pm, and $29.95 for 9 holes all day. Bookings can be cancelled or changed up to 8 hours ahead by calling the golf shop; booking fees are non-refundable. Collared shirts and spikeless shoes are required, denim is not allowed, and outside coolers and alcohol are prohibited. A beverage cart runs on the course.

The Ladies 18 Hole Golf League plays Tuesday and Thursday mornings year-round, with open golf on Tuesdays and tournament games on Thursdays during the November to April competitive season, and represents the club in the Treasure Coast Bi-County League (Loyalty Card minimum, 36 handicap index, $50 league fee). The club also hosts golf outings and school and team events.

Old Florida waterfront seafood is a few minutes east on the Indian River Lagoon in Jensen Beach.
Cross the Jensen Beach Causeway to the Atlantic beaches of Hutchinson Island, or explore the scrub and marsh trails of Savannas Preserve State Park right in Jensen Beach.
The historic downtown along the lagoon has local restaurants, shops, and Indian Riverside Park with its pier and pavilion.
