Natural beauty, serious golf, and a limited membership define Hobe Sound Golf Club, a private, member-owned club with Jupiter Island to the east and Palm Beach to the south. The course began as a Joe Lee design, and Tom Fazio II led a major renovation in the summer of 2019 that included wall-to-wall regrassing, teeing grounds adjusted to add length, improved bunkers, and a new irrigation system. The routing embraces the Atlantic Coastal Ridge, with very few homes along the course, so members play through pine forests, oak hammocks, lakes, and preserved wetlands, often alongside great blue herons, sandhill cranes, otters, and an eagle that calls the 6th fairway home. Five sets of tees and four combination sets stretch to 7,150 yards (74.4 rating, 142 slope), with generous landing areas, strategic bunkering, and multi-tiered greens with aggressive slopes, so pin placements change the approach every day. Membership is limited to just over 200 members, and there are no tee times.

Since the 2019 renovation the course has been grassed wall to wall in TifTuf Bermuda with TifEagle greens. Fazio II described the site's sandy white soil, pines, oaks, and scrub oak as ideal for golf and used those features to make the course more sustainable. Championship tees may require extended carries over wetlands, and coastal breezes are part of every round.

Hobe Sound has a humid subtropical climate with mild, drier winters and warm, humid summers that support year-round golf. Peak season from November through April brings comfortable mid-70s highs. Summers push into the upper 80s and low 90s with typical afternoon thunderstorms from June through September.

“What I like about Hobe Sound Golf Club is that it's golf first. It's a classic Joe Lee layout that rewards good course management and shot placement instead of just distance. The Fazio II work brought some modern elements to the course without changing what made the original design so good. It's challenging, fair, and the kind of course you can play over and over without it ever feeling repetitive.”

The Atlantic is about two miles away. Hobe Sound Beach on Jupiter Island is quiet and uncrowded, and Blowing Rocks Preserve has dramatic limestone outcrops along the ocean.
Jonathan Dickinson State Park and Atlantic Ridge Preserve State Park offer miles of hiking and biking trails and protected waterways for kayaks and canoes, and the Hobe Sound National Wildlife Refuge protects beach and scrub habitat.
The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum is a short drive south, and the Hobe Sound community hub has local events and history.
