Course Overview
Hammock Creek Golf Club is a semi-private, daily-fee course inside the Hammock Creek community in Palm City, minutes from I-95 and Florida's Turnpike. It opened in July 1996 as the first course in Florida co-designed by the father-son team of Jack Nicklaus and Jack Nicklaus II, which earns it the Jack Nicklaus Legacy Design designation, and it was renovated in 2013. The holes are cut through live oak hammocks and Florida pines, with wide fairways and oversized greens that keep missed shots playable and four to five tee boxes on every hole. From the Nicklaus tees the par 72 plays 7,078 yards with a 74.2 rating and 141 slope, one of the stiffest public tests on the Treasure Coast, while seven sets of tees bring it down to 4,825 yards. The clubhouse completed an extensive renovation in October 2020.

“I'll be honest: Hammock Creek humbles me every time I play it. That 141 slope is real, and the Nicklaus design doesn't give you anything for free. But that's exactly why I respect it. When you play well here, you know you've earned it. The father-son design gives it a thoughtful quality; you can feel the experience in how the holes are laid out. It's the course I recommend to low-handicappers who want to test themselves. If you're a 20-handicap, play it anyway, just bring extra balls.”

Rates change monthly by time of day. The club's posted October rates are $69.95 from 7 am to noon, $59.95 from noon to 2:52 pm, and $49.95 from 3 pm, with Loyalty rates of $49.95, $39.95, and $29.95. From 3 pm on it is play all you can, with no rainchecks. The PLP (Practice, Learn, Play) program adds unlimited range balls, free twice-weekly instruction from PGA professionals, a 7-day booking window, and reduced afternoon fees. A limited number of Annual Memberships are also offered; call (772) 220-2599 for details.
