Course Overview

Floridian National Golf Club is a private club on the St. Lucie River in Palm City, just west of Stuart. The course first opened in 1996 as a Gary Player design. Houston businessman Jim Crane bought the property from H. Wayne Huizenga in 2010, and a seven-month renovation that began in spring 2011 delivered a course completely reconstructed by Tom Fazio, a clubhouse redesigned by architect Peter Stromberg with interiors by Rod Mickley, a Spa & Fitness facility overlooking the river, a 68-slip marina, and a Learning Center built to Butch Harmon's specifications. The Floridian Course is a par 71 of 7,114 yards (74.9 rating, 146 slope from the back tees) with rolling fairways, demanding hazards, and views of the St. Lucie River, surrounded by natural preserve. In December 2017 the club added the Harmon Course, a 9-hole links-style par-3 layout. Golf Digest ranks Floridian No. 28 in its 2025-'26 Best in State list for Florida.

Fairway Conditions

Floridian is a caddie club: caddies are required, and walking is permitted all day. The club's hole-by-hole guide describes elevated greens with runoffs, multi-tiered and severely undulating putting surfaces, false fronts, and deep bunkering, with wind off the river shaping club selection on the par 3s. Golf Digest's panel scores the course 4.2 out of 5. The Harmon Course adds riveted-face bunkers, large undulating greens, and two lakes, and is open to members year round.
